Moth trap back - Figure of Eighty!
At long last my skinner trap is back after being smashed to bits in a spring freak gale. And back with a bang too. Amongst the Grey Daggers, Buff Ermine, Heart and Darts etc. was a first for the garden- a superb (albeit a bit worn) Figure of Eighty.

Called in at the mitigation ponds at St Asaph Industrial Park today and had eight species of odonata, four damselflies - common blue, blue tailed, large red and azure - plus emperor dragonfly, four-spotted and broad bodied chasers and common red darters.
Grey day
Couple of nice moths at R&R's this morning with an grey arches and pebble prominent. Back home crescent dart was NFY.
Also a picture of yesterday's cistus forester which with a length of 9.8mm I put down as a male.

Mixed bag
A look round Bryn Euryn in Colwyn Bay produced 2 small colonies of ringlet butterflies plus a cistrus forester moth which I'd only seen on the Great Orme before. Meanwhile recent moths at R&R's in Colwyn Bay included my first barred fruit-tree tortrix plus eudonia mercurella and a small phoenix. Back home I had a gothic NFY.
